Office of the Media Aide to Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa 29th September, 2026 NDC Condemns Fresh Attack on Member in Obuofia, Home Town of Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, Decries Detention of Victim While Alleged Attackers Remain Free The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State condemns, in the strongest terms, the reported attack on our member, Mr. Chidi S. Ani, at Omuoha Market Square, Obuofia, Nkanu West Local Government Area, on Tuesday, 29th September, 2026. Obuofia is the home town of our Governorship Candidate, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa. This comes barely two weeks after the violent attack on our ward meeting at Ihuani Awkunanaw, Obuofia, in which our members sustained gunshot injuries. According to information available to us, Mr. Chidi S. Ani, the Star Witness in the Petition relating to the Ihuani Awkunanaw attack, was riding his motorcycle when he was pursued from Akegbe-Ugwu by two men identified as Nnabuike Ani (aka Stone), on a motorcycle, and Ifeanyi Nwobodo (a...

Udi Shuts Down As Thousands Defy Rain To Attend NDC Rally

Image
In a stunning, emotional display of defiance and Unshakable hope, the ancient, historic town of Udi was brought to a complete standstill on Tuesday,  September 29th, 2026. A sea of passionate citizens completely shut down the entire stretch from the 9th Mile transit corridor all the way to Ngwo, transforming the streets into an unstoppable wave of political awakening and carnival like event.  Not even the rain could breach their resolve. As torrents of rain poured down on Udi, the massive crowd refused to disperse. Instead, young people, mothers holding their children, and elders soaked to the skin marched on, singing, chanting, and declaring with one voice that no amount of rain could wash away their fierce determination to reclaim their destiny and welcome a New Nigeria. Organized by the NDC Udi Local Government Chapter, the historic rally served as a unified declaration for the party’s entire slate, starting from the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, Enugu St...

Image
The Managing Director of Enugu East Zone Bus Terminal, Dr. John Egbo, has commended Governor Peter Mbah for providing an environment conducive to the peaceful conduct of the Enugu State local government election. Egbo also praised voters across the state for their orderly conduct, urging residents and other stakeholders to sustain the peaceful atmosphere throughout the electoral process. He made the remarks shortly after casting his ballot at Polling Unit 10, Amechi East Ward 1, in Enugu East Local Government Area, on Saturday. According to him, the calm atmosphere witnessed at his polling unit demonstrated the willingness of residents to participate in the democratic process without violence or intimidation. Egbo said the peaceful conduct of the election was important to strengthening confidence in grassroots democracy and encouraging greater participation in future elections. He urged voters to exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully, respect the rights of fellow citizens an...

Desperation in Enugu: How Fear of Non-Endorsement Drove Security Interference in Udi North

Image
In what can only be described as a display of political paranoia, operatives directed by the ruling political establishment recently deployed security personnel to abort a non-partisan community gathering of the Udi North Constituency Conference. The conference, convened by Chief Adonis Igwe alongside community leaders like Dr. Walter Oji, brought together stakeholders across all nine wards to address long-standing underdevelopment and security challenges. Yet, terrified by the conference's deliberate refusal to issue politically motivated endorsements, elements within the ruling party deployed state instruments to force the meeting off. Reactions have swift. Speaking on the arbitrary stoppage, Chief Adonis minced no words in condemning the act, describing it as an antiquated attempt to muzzle citizen civic engagement.  "My concern is that Udi North must be allowed to organize themselves... This was not even a political meeting. Let us call it a family meeting, the entire com...

Suspension, Silence And The Politics Of Fear: What Is Really Happening To Enugu’s Traditional Institution?

Image
The thin, fragile veil of administrative propriety covering the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Mbah has finally ripped completely apart, exposing a ruthless reign of political intolerance and draconian intimidation. The recent suspension of His Royal Highness, Igwe Eze William Ezugwu (Eze Ka Eze of Ibagwa-Opi Autonomous Community in Nsukka Local Government Area), signed by the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Charles O. C. Egumgbe, is nothing short of a brazen, political hit job thinly disguised as law enforcement. The government can throw around all the bureaucratic excuses it wants, citing "high-handedness," failure to establish a cabinet, or lack of town union governance, familiar frivolous and vexatious excuses on the stable of dictatorial governors struggling for the last straw in the face of impending electoral defeat, however, the citizens of Enugu State see right through this transparent charade. The timing of this official hammer is far too deli...

ESTMA COMMANDER KENNETH UGWU’S PREDICTION BECOMES A REALITY: MBah’s Vision Is Redefining Enugu

Image
What was once regarded by some as an ambitious prediction is gradually becoming a reality. At the 9th anniversary of the Enugu State Ministry of Transport and ESTMA, ESTMA Commander, Mr. Kenneth Aniebonam Ugwu, spoke confidently about Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s capacity to reposition Enugu on the global economic map. Commander Ugwu specifically predicted that Governor Mbah would pioneer direct cargo connectivity between Enugu and major international commercial hubs, particularly China, through the development of Enugu Air and modern logistics infrastructure. Today, that vision is taking shape. The inaugural cargo flight from Enugu to Bamenda, Cameroon, is another significant step in the emerging aviation and logistics ambitions of the state, demonstrating the administration’s determination to make Enugu more connected to regional and international markets. But the story of Governor Mbah’s administration goes beyond aviation. According to Ugwu, "Across Enugu, the administrati...

The Anatomy Of A Desperate Recruitment: Ndi Enugu Are Not Fools, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is coming

Image
"When a ruler treats you as invisible in times of peace, but crowns you as essential on the eve of battle, he has not recognized your worth, he has simply measured your value as a sacrifice." For over three years, the administration of Governor Peter Mbah operated under the high-falutin guise of pure technocracy. For over three years, local political structures, community leaders, and dedicated party faithful were ignored, bypassed, and relegated to the background while the government projected an air of self-sufficient governance. And what has this touted technocracy produced? Where are the working water schemes, the expanded road networks in our rural areas, the functional farm settlements, or the steady power for our towns? Instead, our citizens face increasing hardship, the loss of livelihoods, and economic policies that squeeze local enterprises and leave ndi Enugu poorer and bitter. Now, with the electoral horizon looming large, the veil has fallen. Yesterday’s announce...

Accompanied by his running mate, Chief Okenwa Frank Omeje; Enugu West Senatorial candidate, Uche Kingsley Eneh; Dr. John Nwokeabia (Aninri/Awgu/Oji River candidate); Engr. Ifeanyi Kingsley Eze (Udi/Ezeagu candidate); Hon. Barr. Emeka Okeke, former Enugu Commissioner; Hon. Nebo Chukwujekwu Emmanuel; and other senior party officials, Ohaa transformed a routine hospital visitation into an intellectual, boundary-defining rallying cry for democratic sanity. The September 12 incident, which left eight party faithful suffering from gunshot wounds, has sent shockwaves across Nkanuland and the wider Enugu polity. With the Enugu State Polic...

Enugu’s Tax Harvest of Tears: Peter Mbah's Monument of Exclusions And The Cry of Traders, Motorists and Transporters

Image
The tragicomedy of governance currently unfolding in Enugu State has reached a fever pitch, degenerating into an unvarnished economic siege against the very citizens the government swore to protect. The civil unrest that recently rocked the Enugu State especially, the Main Market axis was not an isolated event; it was the inevitable eruption of an overburdened, frustrated, and economically strangled populace reaching its absolute breaking point under an administration determined to squeeze every last naira out of its people through relentless taxation. Yet, true to form, the Enugu State Government has responded with insultingly disingenuous spin. Through press statements dismissing the uprising as drivers merely "seeking designated parking spaces" and blaming "desperate opposition infiltrators," the administration attempts to cover up the cries of daily earners. To claim that hundreds of motorists, commercial bus drivers, and tricycle operators shut down major trans...

Why Ijegalu Must Win: A Case for Udi North

Image
The Enugu State House of Assembly is not a retirement home for the weak-willed. It is a battlefield for ideas, for resources, for the soul of our communities. And battlefields are not for spectators. They are for strong willed men. That is why the candidacy of Hon. Ijegalu Andrew Chidozie for Udi North Constituency is not just another contest. It is the best thing that will happen to great people of Udi North, especially the youths. Politics, at its best, is not an exercise in political pageantry or joking around; it is the organized will of the people finding a voice strong enough to carry it. Ijegalu, a true son of the soil, embodies that voice. He did not descend upon Udi North from some distant boardroom of privilege, he rose from its soil, walked its paths, and understands the texture of its struggles because he has lived them. This is what separates a politician from a Comrade: proximity to pain, and the will to answer it. Hon. Ijegalu Andrew Chidozie is a true Comrade.  What...

Udi South 2027: Ndi Amokwe Uwani Uboji Ngwo Pledge Support for Hon. Owelle

Image
Yesterday, Sunday 13th September, 2026 (Uka Eke), Hon. Ugochukwu Eneh Owelle, the NDC candidate for Enugu State House of Assembly, Udi South Constituency, visited Ndi Amokwe Uwani, Uboji Ngwo, as part of his grassroots engagement tour aimed at bringing government closer to the people. During the interactive session, Hon. Owelle engaged the community directly, asking what kind of people-oriented laws and development priorities they would want him to champion if elected as their lawmaker. It was a lively and engaging meeting. Ndi Amokwe Uwani asked many thoughtful questions, and Hon. Owelle answered them brilliantly, one after another. His clarity, sincerity, and deep understanding of the issues drew resounding applause, with the entire congregation pledging their votes and unflinching support for Hon. Ugochukwu Eneh Owelle and the NDC. In a moving moment, the highly revered Legend of Uboji Ngwo, Rev. Ugwuagu, prayed for Hon. Owelle and blessed him with the blessings of our forefat...

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Office of the Media Aide to Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, NDC Governorship Candidate, Enugu State.

16th September, 2026 Yesterday, I visited the hospital where our party members who were shot during a politically motivated attack at Ihuani Awkunanaw, Obuofia, Nkanu West LGA, Enugu state, on Saturday, 12/09/26, are receiving treatment. What I saw was deeply painful and heartbreaking. The scale of the violence inflicted on peaceful NDC members is far more severe than earlier reported. *But for devine intervention, the known gunmen aimed at mass murder.* Below is the current medical situation of the victims as at the time of my visit: 1) Onovo Donald, Ward Councillor – shot in the head, neck, leg and hand. Scan shows a total of 5 bullets in his body.   2) Maduka Ngene – shot in the right hand.   3) Ogbodo Gloria – shot in the right breast and hand. She is still carrying 1 bullet in the breast.   4) Obinna Owoh – shot in both legs, both hands and the chest. Scan shows a total of 6 bullets in his body.   5) Ugwu Nnaemeka – shot in the leg, ha...

NDC Or Nothing: As OSY ACHI’S Popularity Deepens In Aninri

Image
....a response to desperate political propaganda  When a man is dragged through the mud by rumours, slanderers and backbiters, it is often an indication that his presence is being felt and that he is fighting a good fight.  Nobody throws stones at a fruitless mango tree. It is therefore not surprising that, as the popularity and acceptance of the NDC candidate for Aninri State House of Assembly, Hon. Surv. Osita Patrick Achi, continue to deepen across Aninri, desperate political elements have resorted to circulating fabricated stories about his alleged defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Let's state it clearly to any one who cares to listen Surv. Osita Patrick Achi has not defected from the NDC, and there is no truth whatsoever in the rumour of his alleged movement to the APC. The attempt to manufacture such a story is nothing more than a desperate political tactic by those who are increasingly uncomfortable with his growing acceptance among the peo...

Why Uche Kingsley ENEH Represents The New Face Of Enugu West

Image
Enugu West does not need another politician coming with promises of piecemeal solutions, patching one problem today only to face another tomorrow. That is not how meaningful progress is built. What Enugu West needs is a new kind of leadership: one that understands the future, sees beyond today, and has the competence, courage, and compassion to deliberately build the Enugu West we deserve. That is why Hon. Uche Kingsley Eneh represents the new face of Enugu West. His vision is not merely about piecemeal patching or monthly stipend that ends in one week. It is about transforming the five Local Government Areas into a zone where technology, skills, enterprise, agriculture, infrastructure and human capital development become the foundation of prosperity. Imagine an Enugu West where every Local Government Area has access to a world-class ICT hub, connecting young people to the digital economy and opening doors to opportunities beyond geographical boundaries. Imagine world-class skill...

NDC MEETING ATTACK: Ohaa Supporters Allege APC Thugs Invaded Meeting in Obuofia, Several Injured

Image
ENUGU, ENUGU STATE — Tension erupted today at Obuofia, Awkunanaw, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state, the hometown of NDC Governorship Candidate Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa, following an alleged violent attack during an NDC meeting. According to members of the NDC, suspected APC political thugs allegedly stormed the meeting venue at Ihuani Awkunanaw, and attacked participants, leaving several party members, including women and youths, with serious injuries. The victims reportedly included Hon. Donald Onovo Ekene,  Ngene Godwin madueke, Ogbodo Gloria,  Onovo Victor,  Maduabuchi, Ugwu, Nnaemeka Nelson,  Chinonso Nwagbara, Obinna Daniel Owo, who, according to party members, sustained severe gun shot injuries, and is currently receiving medical attention alongside several others. Enugu Govt Drags Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa TO DSS: Weaponizing Security Agencies To Cover Up A Dying Healthcare System

Image
There is a striking tragedy in watching an administration lose its moral compass in real-time. When governance collapses entirely, it reverts to farce, and that is the exact state of affairs in Enugu today. Our state currently sits in the quiet grip of systemic paralysis. The judiciary, the ultimate sanctuary of justice, is now shut down following an industrial strike embarked upon by workers under the umbrella of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Enugu State Branch, on September 10, 2026, effectively bringing the entire court system in the state to a standstill. The reason? The alleged wilful refusal of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration to fulfil its own part of the bargain in implementing the Consolidated Judiciary Salary Structure (CONJUS). Resident doctors, the critical line of defense between life and death, are also on strike due to dismal living conditions and poor remuneration. ESUT lecturers stand on the precipice of industrial action. The fundamental pillars o...

Ohaa Answers DSS Invitation, Says “The People Must Come First

Image
ENUGU, ENUGU STATE  Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa, the NDC Governorship Candidate for Enugu State, has honoured an invitation by the Department of State Services (DSS) following his visit to Parklane Hospital in Enugu last Sunday. Ohaa, who responded to the invitation on Thursday, said he chose to honour the invitation because his actions and advocacy are driven by the welfare and interests of the people of Enugu State. According to him, the central issue remains the need for a healthcare system where the lives, dignity and wellbeing of citizens are given the highest priority. “The people must come first — their health, their dignity, their lives and their future.” Ohaa's visit to Parklane Hospital had followed reports concerning accident victims and the state of healthcare services at the facility amid the ongoing industrial action by resident doctors. The DSS invitation, according to information available to the NDC candidate, followed a petition reportedly submitted by the Enugu ...

Anywhere Chinyeaka Ohaa Goes, I Will Go There — Prof. _Eneh-Nwannaji Ends Legal Challenge, Pledges Total Support for Ohaa

Image
A new chapter of unity and political consolidation opened today in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State as Prof. James Eneh-Nwannaji, who had instituted a legal action against the party’s governorship candidate, Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa (Odalije), not only withdrew the suit, the case was dismissed, bringing the matter to an end at the Federal High Court. But the significance of today's development went far beyond the courtroom. Addressing journalists after the proceedings, Prof. Eneh-Nwannaji made a declaration that immediately captured the political meaning of the moment:  “Anywhere Chinyeaka Ohaa goes, I will go there.” The former aspirant did not merely announce his support for Sir Ohaa; he pledged to work with him and follow his political journey towards the 2027 governorship election. For the NDC, it was a remarkable transition, from contest to reconciliation, from disagreement to common purpose, and from litigation to mobilisation. Responding to the...

Ohaa Condemns Assault on Peter Obi in Benue, Says Political Differences Must Not Override Humanity

ENUGU, ENUGU STATE — The NDC Governorship Candidate for Enugu State, Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa (Odalije), has strongly condemned the reported assault and obstruction of the NDC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, during his visit to the Yelewata community in Benue State. In a statement issued by his Spokesperson/Media Aide, Ohaa described the incident as deeply unfortunate and unacceptable, particularly given that Peter Obi was in Yelewata to express solidarity with victims and families affected by the devastating attack that reportedly claimed over 270 lives. Ohaa said that visiting a community mourning the loss of its people should be regarded as an act of compassion and solidarity rather than an occasion for political hostility. According to him, political differences must never be allowed to override human compassion, dignity and the sanctity of human life. “Whatever our political differences may be, there must always be room for humanity. A visit to a community that has...

NDC TO BOYCOTT ENUGU LG ELECTION OVER ALLEGED DENIAL OF ELECTORAL MATERIALS

Image
.. Party accuses Enugu Government, ENSIEC of frustrating its participation; demands explanation for alleged exclusion from the poll The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Enugu State Chapter, has announced its decision to boycott the forthcoming Enugu State Local Government Elections, alleging that the Enugu State Government and the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) have deliberately failed to create the conditions necessary for the party’s participation in the electoral process. The party said the decision followed what it described as repeated and unsuccessful efforts to engage ENSIEC and the state authorities over what it considers the denial of basic electoral rights and access to information and materials required for participation in the September 26, 2026 local government election. Speaking on the development, the NDC Enugu State Secretary, Hon. Nebo Chukwujekwu Emmanuel, said the party had made several attempts to formally communicate with ENSIEC and r...
