The Enugu State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC) , wishes to set the records straight and bring clarity to members of our great party, Enugu State political stakeholders, and the general public, regarding persistent and deliberate attempts to misrepresent the legal and political position on the leadership of the NDC in Enugu State. A careful study of the Certified True Copy of the judgment delivered by the High Court of Enugu State in Suit No. E/484/2026 shows that the court held that the issues raised before it bordered on the internal affairs and leadership of a political party. Consequently, the court declined jurisdiction in accordance with settled law and the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022. The Ward Executive Committee of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ward 9 (Amoli/Ogugu/Owelli/Ugbo), Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, has reaffirmed that Mr. SKC Ogbonnia has been under indefinite suspension from the Party since 18th May, 2026, following the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). The Party clarified that the suspension is not a recent decision, but one that took immediate effect on 18th May, 2026, and remains valid and binding until otherwise reviewed or lifted by the appropriate organs of the Party.
