Udi Shuts Down As Thousands Defy Rain To Attend NDC Rally


In a stunning, emotional display of defiance and Unshakable hope, the ancient, historic town of Udi was brought to a complete standstill on Tuesday,  September 29th, 2026. A sea of passionate citizens completely shut down the entire stretch from the 9th Mile transit corridor all the way to Ngwo, transforming the streets into an unstoppable wave of political awakening and carnival like event. 


Not even the rain could breach their resolve. As torrents of rain poured down on Udi, the massive crowd refused to disperse. Instead, young people, mothers holding their children, and elders soaked to the skin marched on, singing, chanting, and declaring with one voice that no amount of rain could wash away their fierce determination to reclaim their destiny and welcome a New Nigeria.


Organized by the NDC Udi Local Government Chapter, the historic rally served as a unified declaration for the party’s entire slate, starting from the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, Enugu State governorship candidate Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, the Enugu West senatorial candidate Hon. Kingsley Uche Eneh, and the NDC candidate for Udi/Ezeagu House of Representatives Engr. Ifeanyi Kingsley Eze, flanked by the ever-lively NDC House of Assembly candidate for Udi South, Hon. Ugochukwu Eneh, a grassroot champion whose dynamic presence re-energized the crowd as he renewed his solemn vow to deliver vibrant, responsive, and people-oriented representation for his constituents.

For the people of Ngwo and 9th Mile, it was a desperate, soul-stirring cry for survival. Vowing to vote for the NDC from top to bottom, supporters declared they would stand vigil at every polling unit to defend every single vote.
