We Will Build Institutions That Serve Generations - Chinyaka Oha Pledges Support For University Of Oji River

ISIKWE-ACHI, OJI RIVER — The leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in  Enugu State, led by its Governorship Candidate, Sir Chinyaka Oha, on Sunday August 9th of joined the Anglican Church, Oji River Diocese, at the 2026 Synod held at Christ Church, Isikwe-Achi.



Speaking at the Synod, Sir Chinyaka Oha, an accomplished technocrat with extensive experience in governance and public administration, highlighted the importance of education, strong institutions and responsible leadership in shaping the future of Enugu State.


He expressed particular commitment to the proposed University of Oji River, stressing that the institution should not merely exist as another university, but become a centre of academic excellence capable of transforming the educational and economic fortunes of the people.


Sir Oha stated that, if given the opportunity to be the Governor of Enugu State, he would ensure the completion and effective take-off of the proposed university, while establishing a meaningful partnership between the state government and the institution to promote academic excellence, research, innovation and opportunities for young people.

In the company of Sir Oha were Hon. Uche Kingsley Eneh, Enugu West NDC Senatorial Candidate; Dr. John Nwokeabia, Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency Candidate; Engr. Ifeanyi Kingsley Eze, Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency Candidate; Hon. Ugochukwu Eneh, Udi North Candidate; Hon. Ijegalu Andrew Chidozie, Udi South Candidate; Hon. Adinde, Ezeagu State Constituency Candidate; and other party leaders, including the former chairman of ADC, Prof. Uche Akubue, and the current NDC Secretary in Enugu State, Hon. Nebo Chukwujekwu Emmanuel. 

The delegation’s presence underscored the NDC leadership’s recognition of the Church’s important role in education, values and community development.

The visit ended on a note of goodwill and mutual appreciation.

ENUGU MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT BANS TRAFFIC TASKFORCE FROM ALL FEDERAL HIGHWAYS.

  The Enugu State Ministry of Transport has  banned all manner  of Traffic Taskforce officials from federal highways in Enugu Metropolis with immediate effect.  The Press Release which was signed by the Commander Enugu State Traffic Management Authority Mr Kenneth Aniebonam UGWU Stated that fake MOT task force officials have been having a field day but must Stop henceforth as the ministry has Set up a Special task force officials to put an end to this obnoxious Practice that is giving the MOT a bad name before the Public and the Motorists.  The release Stated that the Ministry  taskforce officials have apprehended some of the fake officials while extorting Motorists in Enugu Metropolis recently and are currently facing interrogation and Prosecution.
