DEPUTY CONTROLLER HONOURED WITH DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP MERIT AWARD 2026.

 


When a good Man is in Authority the People rejoice was how a Media group South East Media Forum described the Situation at Enugu Custodial Centre Where Dr S A IGWE holds Sway as the Deputy Controller in Charge.


In a Citation read during the Presentation of the 2026 Merit Award, Dr Igwe was described as a game Changer Who brought a new and innovative Leadership qualities that has made Enugu Custodial Centre to be a reference point when issues bothering on effective management of Custodial Centres are Concerned.


The Citation further noted that in a report by the Selection Committee the former inmates had Very kind words to Say of Dr Igwes examplary Style of Leadership that has endeared him to them.


 Some graduated during their time at the Centre through the Open University programs.


He was also described as a workaholic who is focused but firm When taking decisions. 


In his response to the honour by the Media group,Dr Igwe said he was Surprised when he received the letter from the SEMF indicating that he has been Selected as the winner of the Award for 2026, noting that he was not aware that he was being watched by outsiders.


What this means is a Motivation for me and my team to work harder for more Laurels.


He thanked the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche (MFR,mni) for the trust reposed on him and he has endeavored not to betray that trust that has Culminated in the Award he is receiving today.


Having to be in Charge of Over three thousand inmates is quite a great task but by the grace of God he and his team have been very focused in the discharge of their duties and will even take it higher from now he disclosed.

ENUGU MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT BANS TRAFFIC TASKFORCE FROM ALL FEDERAL HIGHWAYS.

  The Enugu State Ministry of Transport has  banned all manner  of Traffic Taskforce officials from federal highways in Enugu Metropolis with immediate effect.  The Press Release which was signed by the Commander Enugu State Traffic Management Authority Mr Kenneth Aniebonam UGWU Stated that fake MOT task force officials have been having a field day but must Stop henceforth as the ministry has Set up a Special task force officials to put an end to this obnoxious Practice that is giving the MOT a bad name before the Public and the Motorists.  The release Stated that the Ministry  taskforce officials have apprehended some of the fake officials while extorting Motorists in Enugu Metropolis recently and are currently facing interrogation and Prosecution.
