Gully Erosion biggest threat to Anambra communities

The menace of gully erosion ravaging Anambra State, especially the Central Senatorial district would soon be tamed.
This indication was given by the Anambra Central Senatorial candidate, Hon Dozie Nwankwo while fielding questions from reporters at his Senatorial Constituency office, Enugwu-ukwu, Njikoka Council of Anambra State this afternoon, Tuesday.
Nwankwo who is the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the district disclosed that he was working hard to set up an international network to mobilize technical and financial support for the task.
He noted that gully erosion has been wrecking havoc in most Councils of the State.
The senatorial hopeful who was flanked by top members of his campaign team expressed optimism that his global network on erosion control, education, healthcare and skills acquisition would make things easier once he's elected in the coming general election.
He therefore appealed to all the constituents to support his vision and zeal.
In response to the question from a reporter, Nwankwo disclosed that he would strive to get the Federal Government to vote special fund for the tackling of the erosion menace which has been ravaging roads, farmlands, homes of Councils and communities in his Constituency.
Nwankwo disclosed that he would like to establish constituency desks in each of the Councils and communities in the district to enable him get real time situation reports from seven constituting Councils.
According to him, "am here to serve the people and I urge them to work together with me.
"I want things to be done differently to the benefit of my people for posterity."
Nwankwo appealed to all voters and constituents in Anambra State especially Njikoka, Anaocha, Dunukofia, Awka North and Awka South Councils.
