Anambra APC Crisis: New Chairman, Osegbo Takes, with 3-focal point *welcomes all aggrieved members back including sacked exco, expelled members

The new executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State led by Chief Ifeanyichukwu Osegbo has rode into the party's State Secretariat in Awka in grand style on Sunday.



The exco who effectively took over from the shortlived leadership of Senator Emma Anosike on Saturday immediately convoked a Stakeholders meeting.


The meeting was very well attended by anxious long expectant party members. They included existing old members, ex-members and new members drawn from decampees of other parties.


Osegbo in his remarks heightened the morale, expectations and minds of his party members with his soothing appeal. 


Chief Osegbo got a standing ovations when he assured that his leadership would be known for harmony, and transparency. He affirmed he would never expel anyone as party democracy was all about people, large membership and more members.


Senator Emma Anosike whose executive was swept away for lacking inauthenticity alleged that the party's leadership tussle was being sustained "by certain individuals who were using the police to advance their interests.


Osegbo took control of the party secretariat consequent upon an Abuja Federal High Court judgment order which recognized his executive line-up as being the legitimate executive leadership in the state.


But Anosike accused Police operatives attached to Zone 13 of being used to facilitate Osegbo's takeover of the party secretariat despite the fact that an application for a stay of execution had already been filed against the court judgment.


But the Police Zonal Command, dismissed the argument insisting that it has no involvement in partisan politics and should not be dragged into the internal affairs of any political party.


Besides all the political arguments Osegbo has taken over APC Secretariat in Awka and his executive team inaugurated.


In a remarks at the event, the newly inaugurated chairman, Hon Osegbo promised to transform Anambra state into APC winning State. Africans & Diaspora


According to him, "beginning with the fast approaching 2027 general election, APC under my leadership will become a winning party in Anambra State henceforth.


“My leadership will ensure that all APC candidates from all President Bola Ahmed Tinubu down to the State Assembly win the 2027 general election.


“I will run an all-inclusive leadership, every member of APC in the State will be carried along.


“We will strengthen our relationship with our National Working Committee (NWC) to unify the party ,the more in Anambra State.


“We will also strengthen grassroot mobilization ahead 2027.


"My leadership will harp on the need for the grassroot leaders to see APC in their locality as a one big united  political family, meaning that “you must carry every one along in all you do”


Osegbo noted that "the task ahead is to unite our members and ensure that president Tinubu and all our candidates in Anambra State wins overwhelmingly in 2027.


They assured that with the successful inauguration, APC was set to challenge any opposition in the 2027 general election in the State.Politics


The event that also featured the inauguration of 2027 election planning and winning committee was moderated by the State public Secretary, Hon Tony Ezekwelu.


To put words into real actions, Chief Osegbo set up three high powered committees -Truth and Reconciliation; Strategy and Tactical, as well as the Election Planning and Winning committees.

He intended to inaugurate the committees soon.

ENUGU MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT BANS TRAFFIC TASKFORCE FROM ALL FEDERAL HIGHWAYS.
