In a landmark demonstration of political maturity, strategic foresight, and uncommon statesmanship, the *Enugu West Advisory Council (EWAC)* on Saturday convened a high-level consultative meeting with aspirants and key stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), culminating in a historic consensus to unite under one leadership and work collectively for the political advancement of Enugu West.

The strategic meeting, held at Sunshine Hotel, Enugu, drew a significant number of aspirants, senior party stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, members of the Council’s intellectual think tank, and influential leaders from across the senatorial district.

Beyond a routine political gathering, the event was widely regarded as a defining moment in the evolving political architecture of Enugu West-one designed to institutionalize order, deepen party cohesion, and lay the foundation for a disciplined, grassroots-driven movement ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

In his compelling welcome remarks, Barr. Ugwu Emeka, D.G EWAC and conveners of the event, described the gathering as a vital consultative forum aimed at aligning ambitions with collective regional interests.

He emphasized that the Enugu West Advisory Council remains far more than a conventional political support platform, noting that it serves as the high-level strategic engine and custodial think tank of the zone, committed to political stability, sustainable development, and policy-driven leadership.

At the heart of the deliberations was a collective resolve among the aspirants to place the wider interests of Enugu West and the ADC above personal ambition.

In what observers have described as a rare and refreshing display of political solidarity, the aspirants unanimously pledged to support whoever emerges as the party’s standard-bearer through a free, fair, transparent, and credible internal electoral process.

The declaration was received as a strong statement of democratic discipline and a deliberate effort to de-risk the pre-election atmosphere often associated with internal divisions and factional tensions.

Many of the aspirants who addressed the Council openly vowed to work together in peace, mutual respect, and strategic cooperation, assuring party faithful and the electorate that the ADC in Enugu West would present a united and formidable front.

Several aspirants expressed profound confidence in the current leadership structure, affirming that the ADC in Enugu West has evolved into a credible political platform capable of delivering real democratic dividends to the people.

The meeting also reached far-reaching resolutions on mass membership registration, grassroots sensitization, and voter mobilization, with participants committing themselves to ensuring seamless registration of new members across wards and local communities.

Special emphasis was placed on rural outreach, political education, and community-based sensitization campaigns aimed at encouraging citizens to support aspirants who possess the competence, integrity, and vision to deliver effective governance.

Participants stressed that the people of Enugu West deserve leadership anchored on development, infrastructure renewal, economic empowerment, social justice, and accountable governance.

As the session came to a close, participants rose in one voice, echoing the party’s rallying call: “ADC, Arise and Shine!”

In a symbolic demonstration of unity, loyalty, and respect for party hierarchy, the meeting concluded with members of the Enugu West Advisory Council and the assembled aspirants proceeding to the residence of Dr. John Nwokeabia to formally brief him on the resolutions reached and to reaffirm their collective commitment to the larger vision of the party.

A major highlight of the visit was the overwhelming vote of confidence passed on the leadership of Dr. John Nwokeabia, whose stewardship of the ADC structure in Enugu West was repeatedly praised by participants.

Political analysts believe the development marks a decisive step in positioning the ADC as a formidable force in Enugu West, especially at a time when public demand for credible alternatives and people-centered governance continues to grow.
