GRASSROOTS HEAVYWEIGHTS STORM NWOKEABIA’S RESIDENCE IN STRATEGIC SHOW OF SUPPORT

The political atmosphere in Enugu State intensified on February 11, 2026, as the residence of Dr. John Nwokeabia became the epicenter of a remarkable grassroots convergence. What was initially described as a “friendly visit” by leaders from Udi and Ezeagu Local Government Areas, comprising Obidient youth mobilizers and former Labour Party grassroots influencers, quickly evolved into a formidable political assembly.

The gathering signaled more than solidarity; it pointed to a strategic realignment in Enugu West as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) consolidates its structure ahead of 2027.

The event witnessed an unprecedented turnout of ADC grassroots stakeholders across Enugu West. Notably, more than five key influencers from every political ward in the constituency were present — a powerful demonstration of organizational discipline, coordination, and expanding political momentum.

The convergence reflected not mere enthusiasm, but structure, the kind that determines electoral outcomes.

Leading the delegation was former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Udedi Joseph Uchenna, whose address left little ambiguity about the direction of the region’s political loyalty. He declared unwavering support for Dr. John Nwokeabia’s leadership in Enugu West and reaffirmed total commitment to the ADC.

Describing Dr. Nwokeabia’s leadership as “inspiring, exemplary, and inclusive,” Hon. Udedi projected strong confidence in the party’s electoral prospects.

“The ADC has not just arrived; it has become an indissoluble fixture in Enugu West, Enugu State, and Nigeria at large,” he stated. “We delivered in 2023, and come 2027, Udi and Ezeagu are prepared to deliver a resounding mandate. Our loyalty to Dr. Nwokeabia’s leadership and wisdom is absolute.”

His remarks were met with widespread affirmation from the assembled leaders.

Chief Adonis Igwe JP, one of the ADC leaders in Udi North, echoed similar sentiments. He described Dr. Nwokeabia as a quintessential unifier whose strategic leadership contributed significantly to previous progressive breakthroughs in Enugu West.

 “Where he leads, we follow,” Chief Igwe declared. “Our presence here is a reaffirmation of undiluted trust. The ADC is poised to capture every ward across these local governments.”

Dr. Chinedu Chiama further amplified the momentum, referring to Dr. Nwokeabia as the “New Face of ADC” in Enugu West. He argued that the current political energy under Nwokeabia’s stewardship represents a sophisticated evolution of the Obidient Movement, transforming organic enthusiasm into a structured and disciplined ADC political machine. 

In his response, amid the goodwills and endorsements, Dr. John Nwokeabia maintained a posture of calm strategic focus. Rather than making premature declarations regarding specific elective ambitions, he redirected attention to what he described as the larger national imperative.

Expressing deep appreciation for the overwhelming show of solidarity, he emphasized that the central objective remains national recovery.

According to him, the ultimate mission transcends individual ambition and centers on the installation of Peter Obi as President of Nigeria, a development he described as critical to rescuing the country from its precarious economic and governance challenges.

He reaffirmed that the well-being of the masses remains the guiding principle of his political journey.

As 2027 approaches, Enugu West appears to be crystallizing around a new political nucleus, one anchored on structure, discipline, and a broader national vision aligned with the presidential aspiration of Peter Obi.
