CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSAGE OF DISTINGUISHED SENATOR OKAY EZEA

From: Dr. John Nwokeabia To the Distinguished Family of Senator Okay Ezea.

It is with profound shock, overwhelming sadness, and a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences on the untimely passing of your beloved husband, father, and our esteemed leader, Senator Okay Ezea.

The news has left a void not just in your family, but in the political landscape of Enugu State and the entire nation. For me, this loss is deeply personal, as Senator Okay was more than just a political ally; he was a true buddy—a trusted friend and brother whose counsel I valued immensely

We stood side-by-side through the trenches of the 2023 general election in Enugu State, where I had the privilege of serving as the Deputy Governorship candidate. It was during this demanding period that our bond was forged even tighter, rooted in a shared vision for our people.

Senator Okay Ezea was a man of exceptional character and principle. He was a strong pillar in Enugu politics and a courageous voice for his people. His loyalty and integrity were evident to all, especially in his resolute decision to remain the only federal lawmaker under the Labour Party who refused to decamp to the government in power. This principled stand speaks volumes about his commitment to the mandate he received and his unwavering belief in the ideals we shared.

He served his constituents and the nation with dedication, passion, and an uncommon sense of duty. His death is an enormous blow, robbing us of a trusted friend, a formidable statesman, and a committed servant of the people.

To the entire Ezea family and the Coalition family in Enugu State, I pray that God grants you the fortitude and strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. May the knowledge that Senator Okay lived a life of impact, honour, and principle bring you some comfort during this painful time. While his physical presence will be sorely missed, we take solace in the fact that his enduring legacy and the political family he cultivated will live on and continue to inspire us all.


May the gentle soul of the Distinguished Senator Okay Ezea rest in perfect peace.
