Oganiru Umu Nwanyi Igbo Enugu Chapter Urge Dr. John Nwokeabia to Join the Governorship Race

 

In a significant development that could shape the political landscape of Enugu State, Oganiru Umu Nwanyi Igbo Enugu Chapter has thrown its weight behind Dr. John Nwokeabia, urging him to contest for the governorship position in the state come 2027.

This endorsement is a testament to Dr. Nwokeabia's leadership prowess, his pivotal role in securing a landslide victory for the Labour Party in the last election, and his unwavering commitment to humanity and humility.



The women's group, known for its vocal advocacy for women's rights and empowerment, cited Dr. Nwokeabia's exceptional leadership skills and his ability to galvanize support across party lines as key reasons for their endorsement.

According to them, Dr. Nwokeabia's track record demonstrates that he is the ideal candidate to lead Enugu State into a new era of prosperity and development.

"We can no longer sit back and watch things go the way they are in Enugu State," said Dr. Ada Onoduagu, leader of Oganiru Umu Nwanyi Igbo Enugu Chapter. "The women of Enugu State are ready for a change, and we believe Dr. Nwokeabia is the leader to bring it."

The group expressed disappointment with the zoning system in the state, which they believe has outlived its usefulness and is no longer serving the interests of Ndi Enugu.

"We can no longer afford to be held hostage by zoning arrangements that deny us the opportunity to produce credible leaders in the state ," Dr. Onoduagu said. "Dr. John Nwokeabia's emergence as a candidate would be a game-changer for Enugu State, and we wholeheartedly endorse him for office."

In endorsing Dr. Nwokeabia, the women also tasked him to consider a woman as his Deputy Governorship candidate, citing the importance of gender inclusivity in leadership.

"We urge Dr. Nwokeabia to consider a woman as his running mate, as this would further demonstrate his commitment to women's empowerment and inclusivity," Dr. Onoduagu said.

Dr, Nwokeabia's leadership style, characterized by his humility, compassion, and vision for a better Enugu State, make him the man after the heart of Ndi Enugu. With this endorsement, Oganiru Umu Nwanyi lgbo Enugu Chapter has sent a strong message that Dr. Nwokeabia is their preferred candidate

Oganiru Umu Nwanyi Igbo is a socio political organisation, comprising women from Igbo extraction with the sole of of advancing the Igbo cause and protecting the interest of women in Ala Igbo.
