LP Chairmanship candidate seek cancellation of Aninri LG Election.

The Labour Party has filed a petition with the Enugu State Local Government Council Election Tribunal, challenging the results of the Aninri Local Government Council chairman election. Hon. Celestine Chukwu, the Labour Party candidate, alleges irregularities and non-compliance with electoral regulations.



Key Allegations

1. Multiple thumb-printing of ballot papers: The petition claims widespread voter fraud occurred during the election.

2. *Arbitrary allocation of results*: The Labour Party asserts the results announced by ENSIEC do not align with the Voters Register.

3. Lack of accreditation: The petition highlights issues with voter verification processes.

4. Failure to provide electoral materials: Essential election materials were allegedly withheld.

5. Stuffing of ballot papers: The Labour Party accuses PDP agents of tampering with ballots.

Petitioner's Claims

"The 2nd Respondent (Prince Nwanjoku Ugochukwu) was not qualified to contest the election," the petition states. "The results announced by ENSIEC are incorrect, as the 2nd Respondent did not earn any valid votes."

 Next Steps

The tribunal's decision will determine the legitimacy of Prince Nwanjoku Ugochukwu's victory. The Labour Party has requested the tribunal to inspect and examine election materials to verify the allegations.

  The Leader of Labour Party in Enugu West Dr John Okechukwu Nwokebia has Commended the Labour Party faithful over their Conduct in yesterday's Local government Council Election in Enugu State.
