In an Exclusive Interview with Mediagang the CEO of eSchools Africa Mr Mukundan Paravasthu who was accompanied by the COO of eSchools Africa Mr Michael Uyeh, and a local liaison officer, Engr Austin Ani met with the  Governor at the Lion Building late Friday evening, noted that eSchools Africa is working towards supporting the Smart Schools Infrastructure with firm plans to set up manufacturing plants for the production of laptops, interactive smart boards, tablet pcs and a host of other technology products to support the initiative of his Excellency Dr Peter Mbah to take Education to the next level in Enugu State.

In the next two years the company expects that two more plants will be added for the production of batteries, mobile accessories and spares with all locally produced here in Enugu which he hopes will be the epicenter of their operations in Nigeria even though they are presently in Abuja and in Plateau State working with forty Schools at the moment.

The initial investment expected to be made for the initial two plants to come online,  is about Seventeen Million US dollars ($17,000,000.) that will eventually increase to Forty Million US Dollars (40,000,000) over a period of 3 years, as a Private Public Partnership with Enugu State Government contributing its own quota for the project takeoff in terms of land and other infrastructure for the manufacturing plants.

Some of the expected benefits of the manufacturing facility is supporting the Government in producing the items locally instead of importing at high costs, using local resources, employment generation and improving the economy of the state.

In partnership with the Government they will be establishing a Special Purpose Vehicle for the project as they intend to make Enugu the technology hub for Nigeria. In the very near future he stated they expect to export to other African Countries as well, but for now the company is starting off in the next few months with the focus to be able to deliver the first lot in the first quarter of 2025 for the Enugu smart schools he concluded.
