ENPHCDA CHIEF EXECUTIVE HONOURED

 





The Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Ifeyinwa Ani Osheku was yesterday presented with a distinguished Merit Award by a Media Group Media Network Associates. In a citation read by the Chief Executive Officer of the Media Group Comrade NORBERT OKOLO, noted that under her Exemplary Leadership of ENPHCDA have raised the Bar and working assiduously towards the eradication of diseases that affects the health of children with such current supplementary immunization activities on measles across the length and breadth of the State.

In her response to the honour bestowed on her Dr. Ifeyinwa said she was pleasantly surprised when she got a letter nominating her for the Award by the Media Group, and could only have been through the grace of the Almighty God because he is the one who enables us do all that we are able to do. Secondly my profound appreciation goes to the Executive Governor of Enugu State Dr. Ndubuisi Peter Mba, he is indeed a visionary leader and when you have someone at the head of affairs that puts his legs in a very big shoe, you don’t have any other option than to follow suite.

He is someone that really brings out the best in everything we do, so coming back home to fill the position of Executive Secretary ENPHCDA what was paramount to me was contributing my honest quota to that community seeing that healthcare especially at the level of community does have a lot of challenges.

In Nigeria comparing it to most of Sub Saharan Africa we contribute the largest quota of child mortality, maternal mortality, malnutrition and then as you know his Excellency the Executive Governor of Enugu State does have a dream and vision and that is to take the present economy from a 4.4 billion dollar to over 30 billion dollar.

For you to be able to do this requires a healthy workforce who are the healthy workforce of course the people in the community. If you ensure that the people in the community have access to qualitative, equitable and affordable  healthcare you will be sure that you are set, you are ready to take the economy to a new trajectory.

We in Enugu State health care  development agency have a vision and is to rebrand how health care is viewed, basically what we are trying to do is a different chatter that I will call the primary healthcare renewal chatter.

It is my no mean an easy feat… but we are determined because I  have the right kind of support team and everyone is giving their best, we are challenging ourselves every day and breaking barriers we never knew was possible and giving our time and sacrificing all that we have to ensure the health of people of Enugu State is restored to what it should be and with dignity as well.

With his Excellency’s unprecedented intervention in the primary healthcare landscape with his construction of 260 type 2 healthcare facilities with the injection of new energy with the recruitment of staff and ensuring that services are made available, universal, health coverage are made available and soon Enugu State will be a focal point where people will come to understudy what it takes  to turn around the primary health sector, for us this Award will spur us to work hard to achieve better results she concluded.

DR JOHN NWOKEABIA LAUDS LABOUR PARTY FAITHFUL IN ENUGU STATE.

  The Leader of Labour Party in Enugu West Dr John Okechukwu Nwokebia has Commended the Labour Party faithful over their Conduct in yesterday's Local government Council Election in Enugu State. Gentlemen of the Labor Party, what the PDP and Enugu State Government did in making sure that the ENSIEC LGA elections were not free and fair did not come as a surprise to us.  They made it known through their agents that they were going to write the results of the elections even before the votes were cast. Police may declare Anambra "monarch" wanted

And the hitherto traditional ruler of the community, Chief McAnthony Okonkwo who was dethroned by an Anambra High Court few years ago may be arrested in consequence.
