NNPP Sets Sights on Upset Victory in Enugu State Local Government Elections



Enugu State, Nigeria- The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) Enugu State Chapter has taken a significant step towards challenging the ruling party's dominance in the forthcoming local government elections. On August 17, 2024, the party held its primary election, electing 17 candidates for the chairmanship position and councillors under the supervision of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC).

The primary election, witnessed by ENSIEC Commissioner 1, Hon. Dr. Solomon Udeh, and Secretary Bar. Ifesinachi Umeobika, marked a crucial milestone in the party's journey towards the local government polls. Hon. Idris Dankawu, Member of the National Assembly representing Kumbotso Federal Constituency, Kano State, brought goodwill messages from the party's national leadership, assuring the candidates of the party's unwavering support.

In their acceptance speeches the candidates vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the party's victory in most local government areas.
