MY MANIFESTO: WHY I WANT TO BE THE CHAIRMAN OF AWGU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA ENUGU STATE



1.    I need the resources of the Local Government, to be evenly distributed and every community getting its own share in employment, capacity building and provision of infrastructure.

2.    I intend to attract conventional banks, and recreation centers in Awgu Local Government Area.

 

AGANIGBO 2024 MANIFESTO

FOR TOTAL TRANSFORMATION OF

AWGU L.G.A IN ENUGU STATE

SIX POINT AGENDA:

 

1, Security

2. Agriculture

3. Health

4. Infrastructure/Human development

5. Education

6. Sports/tourism  

After much studies and consultations with many illustrious sons and daughters of our dear L.G.A, much was looked into considering that Awgu Local Government Area has been one of the oldest local government areas even before the civil war. For this, I believe its position should come where it is supposed to, hence the total transformation.

1.       SECURITY 

Set up cameras at strategic places in towns across our local council. Create local vigilantes that will serve as foot soldiers in intelligence gathering, monitoring security situations, and providing them with Vehicles and motorcycles for effective response.We will have Command Central intelligence gathering Centre that will ensure real time gathering of intelligence and taking appropriate actions.

2.      AGRICULTURE 

In this sector, our government will travel to all the towns in our local government and sensitize the people about agriculture and the need for people to go back to cultivating the land for Food security. We shall organize a training section at the local government headquarters where people will be taught about various kinds of vegetables and how to grow them, after which we will empower them with seedlings, such as spinach, pumpkin, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber. We shall also create a distribution chain of these products which will in turn bring much needed income for our people, thereby growing our local government economy. In this sector, Shoprite could be our major off taker.

3.      HEALTH

One of the most effective ways to impact all the towns in our local government apart from equipping and making the primary health centers effective and efficient, is Mobile Clinic. A well-equipped mobile clinic will travel from town to town, administering different basic medical needs to our people. And we will as well provide them with adequate medical treatment on real-time and refer serious cases to hospitals. 

4.      INFRASTRUCTURAL/HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

My government will create interlink roads within the towns and villages even to our farm lands so as to help farmers get easy access to their farms and take their products to markets within our L. G . A. Many towns and villages have not gotten light, those that have don't enjoy constant power supply which enhances development. For communication my Administration will engage the telecommunications Companies to build Masts for Communities that have no links with the outside world. On this note, I will be looking forward to partnering with the state government to see that this anomaly is stopped. I will also look forward to creating vocational training centers in our wards to engage our teeming youths into useful ventures.

5.      EDUCATION

A lot of our primary schools are dilapidated to a state that impedes learning,Most of the Schools lack conveniences for the Pupils and it is my plan  to fix the conveniences with standard lavatories.

 These I will renovate in collaboration with the ministry of education and other agencies that champion enhancement of education. I will equally make sure that an adequate number of qualified teachers are employed and made available to schools.

 Many of the teachers are paid by the parent teachers association. This I will look into so that teaching and learning in primary schools will be strengthened to be restored to its former glory.

 

6.      SPORTS/ TOURISMS

Sports life in our LGA will be reactivated with adequate sporting equipment and competitions in all the departments of sports. Inter village harmony and friendship through organization of wrestling and cultural revolution will be organized with LGA in partnership with individual towns where all the towns will be encouraged to attend each turn by turn. Inter school debate, quizzes and games will be organized. On tourism, I will look forward to attracting foreign investors for review of our topography and partnership in the development of tourist centers in our local government.


On the six point agenda, I believe that by working together we can do more and I look forward to running a government of all-inclusiveness, gender balance and oneness knowing fully well that our LGA has all it takes humanly wise to turn it around and to bring it to the standard it required.
