Youths Encouraged to Promote Peaceful Election in Ebonyi State



July 18, 2020 - LG Election/Ebonyi State: With less than 48 hours to the upcoming Local Government election in Ebonyi State, youths have been advised to refrain from being used as agents of disruption by individuals seeking to advance their own interests. Comrade Ikechukwu Udu, Youth Coordinator of the Police Community Relations Committee in the South East Zone, made this call while speaking on Unity FM, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful election.

Comrade Udu urged youths to focus on decent conduct, rejecting any attempts to lure them into political thuggery from any quarter. He encouraged them to strive to become valued assets for future political positions. He commended the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for improved security in the area and assured them of continued support through effective information sharing.

Comrade Udu also praised Governor Francis Nwifuru for appointing youths to various political positions, charging them to demonstrate their capacity to handle sensitive roles in their assigned areas.

  The Leader of Labour Party in Enugu West Dr John Okechukwu Nwokebia has Commended the Labour Party faithful over their Conduct in yesterday's Local government Council Election in Enugu State. Gentlemen of the Labor Party, what the PDP and Enugu State Government did in making sure that the ENSIEC LGA elections were not free and fair did not come as a surprise to us.  They made it known through their agents that they were going to write the results of the elections even before the votes were cast.
