PCRC ENUGU STATE COMMAND LAUNCHES FUND FOR NON KINETIC APPROACH TO INSECURITY by Okoro Norbert
The Ibrahim K Idris event center, Superior Police Officers Mess , Uwani Enugu came alive today as the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Enugu State Command organized a State banquet in their bid to raise fund to build a Centre for Security, Entrepreneurship and Innovation including Security gate for the State Police command.
In a keynote address by the State Chairman PCRC Pst. Bright Nnamdi Alaribe noted that the Projects when Completed will Provide Enugu State Youths the opportunity of obtaining quality training and Practical demonstrations in the area of Security, Entrepreneurship and innovation in the global marketplace. It will also enable them to acquire soft skills and develop their talents and gifts.
The Special guest of honour His Excellency Barrister Peter MBAH the Executive Governor of Enugu State who was represented at the occasion by the state Commissioner for Information Aka Eze Aka Said that his administration have been very proactive hence the donation of operational vehicles for the Distress Response Squad (DRS) and will partner with the PCRC in executing this laudable Projects.
The State Commissioner for Police CP Kanayo V, Uzuegbu who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner Administration, in his address noted that the issue of Security today cannot be left for the Police alone as the Public are expected not only to provide useful information to enable the Police to crack many criminal activities.
The National Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, who was represented by the National Deputy Chairman, South Prof Nick Eze, expressed deep appreciation and praised the Enugu State leadership of PCRC for such wonderful programme and promised that the National body of PCRC will contribute and provide every needed support to ensure that this center come to reality. Prof. Ezeh, who was full of gratitude to the organizers, advised that the event should be replicated across all the divisions in the state.
Many other guests who spoke at the event included Dr Godstime Okafor the National Vice Chairman, South East, the Royal father of the day HRH Igwe Dr Emmanuel Ugwu, all enjoined invitees to donate generously for the projects to be realized.
The high point of the event was the recognition of various individuals for Awards in different categories who appreciated PCRC and promised to assist in the execution of the Projects.
