A Strategic Mobilization for National Redemption: ADC Support Group Pays Courtesy Visit to Dr. John Nwokeabia
In what has now become a defining moment in Enugu State’s evolving political architecture, the Support Group, Contact and Mobilization Directorate, paid a high-level courtesy visit to Dr. John Nwokeabia, a respected political strategist, reform advocate, and one of the prominent leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State.
The visit was not merely ceremonial. It was a deliberate reaffirmation of commitment to a political movement anchored on integrity, competence, and national transformation, principles that align seamlessly with the presidential aspiration of Mr. Peter Obi.
Presenting the purpose of the visit, the President of the Support Group, Rev. Godwin Obasi, emphasized that the organization is not a paper structure but a formidable grassroots force. According to him, the Directorate cuts across all the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, with coordinators in every LGA and ward, a political machinery tested and proven in past electoral engagements.
He noted that the visit was a demonstration of their collective admiration for Dr. John Nwokeabia, whom he described as “a wise leader and go-getter” whose political foresight and selfless commitment have consistently elevated progressive politics beyond sectional interests.
Rev. Obasi reaffirmed their unalloyed support and called on Dr. Nwokeabia to step forward for greater elective responsibilities, assuring him of the organization’s readiness to deploy its full mobilization capacity in support of his leadership and, ultimately, the election of Pete Obi as Nigeria president.
Speaking on behalf of the Enugu North delegation, which arrived in impressive numbers from Nsukka, the Coordinator described Dr. Nwokeabia as a political figure whose name “rings a bell and represents everything good in politics.”
The Coordinator of Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Pastor Sunday Chukwuma Ani, spoke with conviction about the direction of 2027. According to him, ADC is poised to take over Enugu State, not merely as a political conquest but as part of a broader national recalibration aimed at enthroning Peter Obi as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s challenges , economic instability, institutional decay, insecurity, youth unemployment, and governance deficits, require a leader with demonstrable competence, fiscal discipline, intellectual depth, and moral credibility. In his view, Peter Obi represents that convergence of character and capacity.
Hon. Emeka Ani, Coordinator in Enugu West, echoed similar sentiments, stating that beyond party affiliations, what attracts him most to Dr. Nwokeabia is his kindness, humility, and consistent goodwill toward people across divides. Such attributes, he argued, reflect the kind of value-based leadership Nigeria urgently needs at both state and national levels.
Other speakers, including the Women Leader, Mrs. Adinde Uchenna, and the Secretary, Chief Jerry Linus Okoro, reinforced the group’s unwavering support for ADC and the presidential candidacy of Peter Obi, pledging maximum mobilization across women and youth constituencies.
In his response, Dr. John Nwokeabia expressed deep appreciation for what he described as a pleasant surprise. What he had anticipated as a routine friendly visit transformed into a mass convergence of committed reform advocates.
He did not mince words about the disappointment felt by many over elected representatives who rode to power on the Obidient movement but later distanced themselves from its core principles. According to him, the mission remains unfinished.
“Our eyes are still on the road,” he stated firmly, “until Peter Obi is elected President of Nigeria.”
Dr. Nwokeabia emphasized that ADC in Enugu State is not only prepared but strategically positioned to deepen grassroots mobilization. He urged members to remain vigilant, organized, and committed to taking the message of reform, accountability, and economic reconstruction to every ward and polling unit.
The visit evolved into what observers described as a carnival of conviction, bringing together supporters from all 17 local government areas of Enugu State in an atmosphere of unity, optimism, and strategic resolve.
