The Reign of Igbo Etiti Government of Ajadutocracy: A Scandalous Assault On The Dignity of Womanhood
The term "Ajadutocracy," a searing indictment coined by noble Comrade Akpa Francis, has recently entered our lexicon. It refers to the self-proclaimed policy of Igbo Etiti Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Odoh, who audaciously declared in a public video clip his intention to run a "Government of Umu Nwanyi Ajadu" (Government of Widows). Initially, this boast might have hinted at a commendable flash of empathy for financially burdened widows in our communities. However, closer inspection of this laughable and insulting policy reveals the Chairman to be visionless and possessing a total absence of direction for the good people of Igbo Etiti.
The reality of this so-called "compassion" is an unfolding administrative disaster designed to mock womanhood itself. We have learned that this administration compels vulnerable women to endure a stressful and chaotic registration process, often waiting for countless hours at the Local Government Headquarters, only to receive a paltry N10,000 monthly stipend. The indignity is compounded by the economics of the situation: it costs an average of N4,000 to N5,000 just for transport and associated expenses to collect this meager sum at the local government headquarters. Many women accumulate debts or spend what little money they have on food and water, effectively resulting in them going home with nothing and if any one mistakenly enter okada while going him, it mean you will either take money from the house or borrow from your neighbour to pay the bike. What's a government.
When I watched the Chairman's clips, boldly bellowing about his "Government of Umu Nwanyi Ajadu," I was taken aback. This is not governance; it's the public exploitation of poverty. It's not encouragement; it's an insult to the resilience and dignity of womanhood.
After one full year in office, the balance sheet of Dr. Eric Odoh's tenure is dominated by propaganda and outright fabrication. His only tangible output seems to be the blatant lie of having "tarmacked every road in all the 20 wards" across the Local Government. Meanwhile, the Chairman exhibits a stunning pleasure in exploitation while demonstrating a confused inability to perform basic governance.
He is happily exploiting local traders at Aku and others with N2 million for local market shops, yet he cannot solve the common, life-threatening erosion issue at Eke Aku or fix a drainage problem at this market, a drainage not up to 100 metres.
Dr. Eric Odoh's "Ajadutocracy" is a monument to misdirection and incompetence. The people of Igbo Etiti demand accountability, not theatrical contempt disguised as welfare. This era of visionless leadership must end.
