  By Chuks Collins, Awka April 5,2025 Anambra's incumbent governor, Prof Charles Soludo this afternoon won the ticket of APGA that would enable him stand for his second and final term as governor of Anambra State, from the primary election of his party, the APGA. The primary was a mere formality as he was the sole candidate and aspirant as the party printed and gave out only one Expression of interest form . So the outcome was long foretold faith accompli. The party organized a very quiet process at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Apparently because the arena was overlooking the newly completed Government House, the Governor spared no Kobo in giving it a new touch of class respledent of top rank taste. This clarification was made late afternoon Friday, April 4, 2025 by top leaders of the party including the Anambra State chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh. The chairman told journalists, "..members, supporters, the general public and friends of LP to disregard any negative report concerning the scheduled tomorrow's governorship primary of our party." According to him, the event will hold as planned. He therefore urged well-meaning Nigerians, particularly LP members and friends of the party to disregard the misinterpreters of the Supreme Court's ruling because the Court was very clear and unambiguous. The suspension and unexpected turn of events was consequent upon Friday's afternoon long awaited verdict of the Supreme Court. The verdict which threw an irredeemable spanner in the works of the party leadership hitherto under Barrister Julius Abure ordered him to vacate the party Secretariat along with his executives at all levels. Its Anambra State chapter acting chairman, Comrade Peter Okoye in an exclusive interview with The Guardian in Awka Friday afternoon disclosed that the Governorship primary earlier fixed for April 5,2025 shall no longer hold.
