This clarification was made late afternoon Friday, April 4, 2025 by top leaders of the party including the Anambra State chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh. The chairman told journalists, "..members, supporters, the general public and friends of LP to disregard any negative report concerning the scheduled tomorrow's governorship primary of our party." According to him, the event will hold as planned. The suspension and unexpected turn of events was consequent upon Friday's afternoon long awaited verdict of the Supreme Court.
