Banks, hospitals, transporters desert Anambra over Govt neglect, absence

From Chuks Collins, Awka  Feb 26,2025 It has been revealed that banks, hospitals, mechanized farmers and transport operators as well as diverse other drivers of development have deserted most part of Anambra State due to the untold neglect by the state government that had continued over the years till the today. The worst hit were Awka North, Oyi, Ayamelum, Anambra East and West Council areas. Others include the Orumba North and South axis of the State. But all that would change soon, when the Labour Party (LP)comes on board to pilot the governance and wellbeing of the State. Blame internal wranglings, instability  The membership rank of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State has continued to swell, as key and critical stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state have dumped PD for APGA. These stakeholders led by a former presidential aide/campaign strategist, Chief Barr Ugochukwu Adilieje were received into APGA weekend by the Anambra State chairman, Barr Ifeatu Obi-Okoye. They had blamed persistent instability and internal wranglings for their departure, which they disclosed may persist. This was revealed during a media interview with journalists in Awka earlier on Wednesday shortly after the met with some executive members of APGA in Anaocha. The need for the sudden move, according to Chief Adilieje was as a result of the myriad of problem currently rocking the very foundation of PDP from State, Zonal and National levels. The State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, revealed this when she stormed the Nnewi crime scene, where the three children were murdered. The incident, which occurred weekend, went viral on social media after the parents of the deceased children, Mr. Udochukwu and Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, returned from their respective workplaces in the evening to find the door to their house wide open—an unusual occurrence since the children always locked the door whenever they went out to play. The event which had almost all the adult males from the Nyamoke Family Union of Umuchem village in Ojoto in attendance was described as a day to remember, when brotherly love, unity, oneness and progress were returned in abundance in their midst.
