Odoh assumes duties Tuesday, says  appointment followed due process Every due arrangements have been made for Tuesday, Nov 5,2024 assumption of duty by Prof Benard Odoh as the new sustantive Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, (UNIZIK) Awka. This was despite the letter alleged to be from the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education Mrs R G Ilyasu to the contrary. The Permanent Secretary had according to the letter nullified Prof Odoh's appointment and that of the  Registrar - Rosemary Nwokike. Prof Odoh was already set to assume duty as UNIZIK's new VC. The Director General of the campaign organization, Chief Okey Chukwuogo commended the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Anambra State led by it's chairman -Chief Uche Ugwoji, for honouring Chief Moghalu's invitation.   From Chuks Collins, Awka Oct 29,2024 Gov Chukwumesili Soludo has appointed the former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Chief Ken Emeakayi as the Special Adviser on Community Security. Apparently in a bid to enhance the security of the communities, this versatile talent was brought on board. The event took place at the Government House in Awka on Tuesday  According to Soludo the importance of communities security and stated that it was a top priority of his administration. That crimes such as armed robbery, and cultism have become rampant in some parts of the state and emphasized the need to tackle these issues head-on. Soludo expressed his confidence that with the appointment of Emekakayi to join the larger security team, the state would experience a higher level of security.
